Analogies
Think About It
It can be hard to think rationally about the issues presented on this
web site. Some of the difficulties people have are emotional and
some are logical. This page will contain a number of analogies
that will hopefully help make the issues easier to understand.
Wouldn't people be better off not knowing?
We don't know for absolute sure that hormonal birth control methods cause
abortions or how often they do, so why worry until we know all the
facts?
Some women's bodies naturally abort babies, and hormonal birth control
decreases the total number of deaths, so isn't hormonal birth control
better than no birth control?
We are using hormonal birth control to keep from having a baby, which we feel
is the responsible thing for us to do at this point in our lives.
We are not taking it to intentionally kill babies, so are we really to
blame if one accidentally dies?
Christian author Randy Alcorn's web site, has a great deal of
information on the subject of birth control from a Christian
perspective. On this site you will find Mr. Alcorn's excellent book Does
the Birth Control Pill Cause Abortions? and other articles and
papers.
An academic quality letter signed by 26 prolife doctors agreeing
with the position
that chemical/hormonal birth control methods do indeed cause abortions,
possibly more
than one million per year in the U.S. alone.
